Joshua Scott Jones is an American rock/rust belt/country singer and multi instrumentalist who was born in Houston, TX in July 1980. Raised in rural Illinois, he picked up his first guitar at age five and began to play. By age twelve, he had written and performed his first song for the congregation of a Second Baptist Church that he and his family attended every week. Just out of high school, Jones began to traverse the country as a street musician playing for anyone anywhere he could from coast to coast for the next six years. He briefly spent time in Los Angeles and Chicago forming bands and doing live performances.

In 2006, Jones moved to Nashville, TN and formed the group Steel Magnolia. The band went to London to record and establish a name for themselves, but returned to Nashville empty handed. Jones continued to write and work on the live performance aspect of the band until they got a break and won season two of the singing competition, Can You Duet on CMT. From there, the band went on to sign a record deal with Big Machine records in Nashville and have four chart topping singles and a number 4 hit on the country music charts called “Keep On Loving You” written by Chris Stapleton. The band dissolved due to personal differences in 2012.

Jones had a wellspring of material ready to record and start his own journey. In 2014, he released a self-produced and written record “The Healing” which received critical acclaim. Since that time, Jones has recorded three additional solo records.
